Setup Wizard
Creating a new workspace step by step
Last updated 2026-11-01
Every new workspace asks for the same things: a name, an optional description and your work roles. Your first workspace, right after signup, uses a two-step setup page. More workspaces, created later from the Hub, ask the same questions in one window.
Your first workspace
If you sign up without an invitation, Opzello opens the setup page.
Step 1: Create your workspace
Enter a Workspace name (required) and an optional Description (optional) shown to members. The name is what appears on your workspace card in the Hub and in the workspace switcher. Click Continue.
Step 2: Choose your work roles
Pick up to 3 work roles that describe what you do: Developer, Marketing, Logistics, Sales, Design, Finance, Product, HR, Data or Customer Success. Your work roles:
- decide which module dashboards appear in your sidebar
- tag your work logs and tasks
You must pick at least one role. Click Create Workspace to finish, or Back to change the name.
Another workspace, from the Hub
- In the Hub, click New Workspace.
- Type the Workspace name.
- If you want, add a Description (optional).
- Under Your work roles, pick up to 3 roles. Pick at least one.
- Click Create Workspace.

If someone sent you an invitation instead, open the Join with invite tab in the same window, paste the invite link or token, and click Join Workspace.
After Setup
Once created, you're the workspace owner with full access — invite members, set up roles and permissions, and turn features on or off in Workspace Settings. See Workspace → Members & Invites and Workspace → Roles & Permissions next.
To change your own work roles later, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose My work roles. You don't need to create a new workspace.
