Data Analyst Module

Custom tracked metrics with trend comparison

Last updated 2026-09-12

The Data Analyst module lets you define and track any numeric metric that matters to your work—conversion rates, query performance, model accuracy, pipeline counts, or anything else you measure regularly. Enable it by selecting the Data Analyst role in Settings → Preferences.

Tracked metrics are the core record. Each metric stores a name, current value, previous value, unit (%, ms, #, etc.), and category. Opzello compares current vs. previous value to display a trend arrow and color indicator (green for improvement, red for regression).

The dashboard shows:

  • Category breakdown — donut chart grouping metrics by category.
  • Hours by day — 14-day area chart of data-related work log hours.
  • Metrics list — each metric with its current value, trend icon, and last updated date.

Update metric values manually on a regular cadence (daily, weekly, or after each analysis run). The previous value is preserved when you save a new value, so trend comparison always reflects the most recent change.

Log analysis sessions, report writing, and data pipeline work against the Data Analyst role. The AI Analyzer can surface patterns in your analysis workload—useful for spotting when data work is crowding out other responsibilities.

Pair metrics with goals: create a key result with a numeric target and reference your tracked metric by name in check-in notes each week.
